Shipment Terror

June 3, 2018

I'm not entirely sure where it started, as it was either very uneventful or started in the midst of an event. Either way, from what I remember, I was on a large ship with at least three floors that was carrying various things, from animals, video game consoles (NES, Atari and SEGA in this case), and bibles, and a group of pirates were invading us. Most of them carried guns, and from the other, far smaller ship, were shooting at us. At hand, I had a AK47, so I used my iron-sight, and begun to kill many of them. Other people, of course, had guns at my side, and made about the same amount of progress killing people.

As another note, the ship we were on didn't have very good lighting. Most of the lighting relied on the sun shining through the tarps covering the otherwise non-existent walls of the below deck area (name?), and things were somewhat scattered on shelves, balconies and such. It looked sort of like a warehouse on the water. I'm pretty sure ships like that do exist.

Anyway, the other ship, like I said, was much smaller, and apparently was enough to carry about 20 or 30 people on it. There was a second floor to it in the middle of the boat, but otherwise was a very simple boat. I've seen boats that resembled it, but I have no idea what they'd be called, though I suppose they sort of resembled those tourist boats that carry many passengers.

Back to what was actually happening; three or so people charged directly onto the boat. They were a floor below me, so I took the opportunity to shoot at them, but the bullets had no effect. They were using a certain technology. It wasn't explained very well, but it was fairly new tech that used a sort of an invisible energy field to protect people, powered and charged by a small device.

As it would happen, at least I was provided with this device. Apparently it wasn't very common to use these as protection, but I figured that with the yellow and black device I would be able to overcharge it. I went down from the floor I was on, and looked up about 7 or so stairs, and saw two people standing there with a third as a hostage. None of them were armed, but I knew the captors wore a shield, so if I shot, at best it'd do nothing and at worse I'd kill the innocent person.

Anyway, despite feeling that they'd probably know what the device was, I held it up and pointed at them, authoritatively yelling "FREEZE!". They started to huddle closer to each other, I think to avoid themselves being harmed and have me accidentally shoot the hostage instead. That was their first mistake. Their next mistake is that they got closer to each other, until they were almost touching.

I pulled the trigger of the charging device, and suddenly their fields became so overcharged that they shocked them, and forced them to pass out, leaving the hostage and I the only ones standing. I was waiting for them to get into range of each other, so I could take care of both of them before they could do anything.

The hostage ran past me. I don't remember much what happened after this point, but I think there was a shipment of bibles that somehow fell into the water. I met someone who wanted to study and write in a copy, so I managed to only retrieve one copy at the moment, and give it to them. They sat in a somewhat cramped dark area that was only lit by their desktop lamp. Immediately they started to write something in it with pen.

This segment of the dream technically ended, because I woke up and thought about how interesting this was, how I wish I could recycle the ideas, or even have more ideas in a following dream. Sure enough...

The dream continued when I went back to sleep. Everything had calmed down now, and I was simply walking around. I came across a canopy tent on the deck that acted as a makeshift church. They apparently had no bibles to work on, and I started to feel bad for not having retrieved a bible. That was when I remembered I retrieved one earlier, and that I might be able to get that one back, even if it now had someone's handwriting on it.

I went back into the dark chasms of the ship, and quickly came across an eerily empty area that used to contain filled cages of animals. Apparently they had somehow escaped earlier in the day during the fight. Covering the wooden flooring of this are were small holes that could be opened. Some of them were jammed shut by poles on the floor below, basically leveraging them to be locked. Anyway, I went around on this floor, crawling a bit when I came across a cage with what appeered to be a wireless and realistic marionette of a little girl. I thought it was curious, and when I moved to crawl to look at its face, it was gone.

Whatever it was, it was alive. I looked through one of the holes, and sure enough I saw it run out of my view. I started to crawl when its arm burst out from another caged area, reaching around, attempting to grab me. I started to panic, but not without reason, I grabbed the cage and started to move it ahead of me, covering up any holes I could, even if they were effectively locked. Not long after, I looked down one of them and tried to talk to the little girl.

I had a good feeling that, whatever she intended, she was a ghost possessing a wooden doll. I'm not sure if in this universe I had met many ghosts at all, but I do know I've had encounters with the dead on multiple occasions and managed to reason with them in previous dreams. Anyway, I managed to calm down the spirit enough that they started ot talk to me. I somehow squeezed through one of the holes, and stood on a small wooden tower-like area that straddled over a display pile.

I couldn't see in great detail, but oddly enough, the area beneath the animal storage seemed to be where we put the consoles. Across the room there was a somewhat large shelf with more on it. Anyway, the doll talked to me a bit. I knew it was going to help me get down now, so I jumped up and grabbed onto the hole above me. It was then that the tower collapsed over the display pile, breaking both the display shelf, the tower, the consoles and the doll.

I dropped down. and lifted up the broken marionette. I felt bad for it and appreciative, but now it had sacrificed itself to help me get down. I pulled off one of its shattered legs and threw the leg away, I put the doll down for a bit, then looked through the broken display pile. Broken wood was now everywhere, but this didn't really cause much trouble. I found there was at least a small handful of unharmed things - from a NES controller, and Atari controllers, and even two consoles.

When I stopped shifting through the broke stuff, - which strangely enough displayed as a UI depicting the objects, not me actually shifting wood aside to find them - I looked up and saw the doll back to life. Its leg was back, and it was then I mused to myself. "So part of it is still human..." And that was when the dream ended.
